Join local artist, Peggy Rambach and experience wonder and appreciation for the smallest living things by using colored pencil and watercolor to draw and paint from images photographed in Andover’s many nature reservations. Participants will work with watercolor sets, brushes, watercolor paper, Prismacolor colored pencils, and need no prior experience in both art forms to participate – just curiosity and a love of nature. At the class’s conclusion, participant will receive digital images of their work to reproduce on items like mugs, placemats or tote bags on websites like Vistaprint, Zazzle or Shutterfly.
Bio Peggy Rambach:
Known as a writer and teacher of writing for the majority of her career, Peggy Rambach, M.A. M.F.A. began to draw in 2016 when she urged her students to illustrate their writing. Then she expanded from pencil and pastel to colored pencil and watercolor and began painting as a Natural Science Illustrator. Though raised in New York City, Peggy always loved nature, and Natural Science Illustration gave her a way to express it. Because the pandemic terminated Peggy’s eleven-year position as an instructor in Women’s Programming at Boston’s Suffolk County House of Correction, Peggy now commits herself full-time to the visual arts and offers classes to young people and adults so that they, too, can develop the observational and artistic skills of natural science illustrators and see the miraculous in the smallest of wild things
